BYTES TO BULLETS: 3D PRINTED FIREARMS AND CYBER LAW IN INDIA
Abstract
The rise of three-dimensional (hereinafter 3-D) printing technology has open infinite ways of innovating things and making our life more convenient, but as with all technologies has a dark side attached to them, 3D printing has also some serious concerns which are attached to it, especially being used for printing firearms, this project tries to find out how cyber law in India deals with 3d printed guns and their digital blueprints or computer-aided design (Hereinafter mentioned as CAD) files which are available online within the context of India.
Deep research and through analysis will be administered, exploring the evolution of 3D printed guns, their online accessibility and the challenges which are upfront of the whole world, especially with respect to existing legal framework in India. The research will dig deep into available case studies, established legal precedents and legislative gaps to establish a comprehensive understanding of the present legal scenario. This project will highlight the possible consequences of not regulating this technology in cyberspace, including the dangerous threats which they pose to public safety and national security. By unravelling the technicalities surrounding 3D printed guns and cyber law in India, this project aims to contribute practical insights to the emerging debate on technology regulation and its impact on societal well-being. It put forward the need for a forward-looking legal framework that can effectively grapple with the challenges posed by the digital age and the proliferation of 3D printed weaponry as of for India author is of view point that prevention is better than cure so to tackle accessibility of these blue prints should be regulated as soon as possible before it reaches to the place where they can be highly misused.
