Green Practices, Sustainability MedicineAbstract
The healthcare industry is a significant contributor to environmental concerns due to its extensive use of resources, energy consumption, and medical waste generation. This study explores the role of green practices in the medical industry and their impact on advancing sustainability in medicine. Through a detailed literature review, the research identifies key green initiatives, including waste reduction, energyefficient healthcare facilities, eco-friendly medical equipment, and sustainable supply chain management.
The responses reveal a growing awareness and positive attitude toward sustainability in healthcare, with a majority supporting the integration of eco-friendly practices. The data analysis, supported by a summary pie chart, highlights key trends, such as a strong preference for biodegradable packaging, energyefficient hospital infrastructure, and sustainable procurement policies.
Findings suggest that while the adoption of green practices is increasing, challenges such as cost concerns, regulatory compliance, and resistance to change hinder widespread implementation. However, organizations that successfully integrate sustainability initiatives report long-term benefits, including cost savings, improved patient satisfaction, and enhanced environmental responsibility.
The study concludes that green practices are not just a necessity but a strategic advantage for healthcare institutions aiming for long-term sustainability. Future prospects include advancements in green technology, government incentives for sustainable practices, and increased collaboration between healthcare providers and environmental organizations. By embracing eco- friendly solutions, the medical industry can contribute significantly to global sustainability goals while maintaining high standards of patient care.
This research serves as a valuable resource for policymakers, healthcare administrators, and stakeholders seeking to implement effective green strategies in the medical field.
